Han var også eneste KTM i mål, da både Marc Marquez og Cameron Beabier krasjet. Her er hva KTM og han selv sier om dagens løp:
Wild card Fagerhaug finishes in nineteenth place
While Marc’s factory rider companion American Cameron Beaubier also failed to finish it was the Red Bull KTM Moto Sport wild card entry, Sturla Fagerhaug of Norway, who managed to bring his KTM machine safely home in overall nineteenth place. Fagerhaug was given three opportunities to ride with the factory team after finishing second in the Red Bull Rookies Cup behind Jakub Kornfiel of the Czech Republic after being the most dominant rider in the first half of the season.
Fagerhaug recovers from a first lap mistake
While happy to have seen the chequered flag, the young Norwegian took the pragmatic approach, admitting his final place in the standings had been helped by a number of other riders going out in front of him. “I enjoyed my race and I managed to ride at the same pace for most of the time – except for the first lap when I made a big mistake, ran wide and lost a couple of positions. But I was able to fight back and regain them and I managed to get back into the group in front. I improved one more position but only for a short while because I was overtaken on the last corner. I'm okay with my three wild cards and the race definitely was going better for me than the last time I rode in Barcelona. Hopefully I will get another chance to ride again as a wild card for the factory team in the final round in Valencia.”
